Our own Charlie and Lola Adventure!

A few days before Christmas, the kids and I set off on an adventure with Erin, Amelia, Patrick and Mum into the city to see Charlie and Lola at the Opera House. We caught the bus and then the train into Circular Quay (which was an excitement in itself!). It was a beautiful day to be in Sydney - Luke and Sarah loved seeing the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and all the boats, including the HUGE cruise ship docked in the harbour.

Charlie and Lola's The Best Bestest Play was fantastic! The children (and adults!) loved it - the puppets were so very clever. I think that Charlie and Lola remind me a lot of my two - Luke being the sensible big brother like Charlie and Sarah who always has a good excuse and loves to make believe, just like Lola!

Looking cool while waiting for the bus!

Kitchen Tea and Birthday Fun!

December is such a busy time for us and this weekend was no exception! On Saturday, Sarah and I joined a fantastic group of ladies to celebrate Katie's 'mad hatters' themed kitchen tea. Everyone was encouraged to wear a crazy hat and the day was full of Alice in Wonderland decorations and games (we even had two little Alices running around!).

Then today we celebrated my husband's birthday at home with family. We took the opportunity of all being together to get some family shots in our front yard.

So another great weekend! The countdown until Christmas is well and truly underway...

This Weekend!

We've had a great weekend together! After a warm morning at cricket yesterday, we decided to have some backyard water fun!

Then to dry off, Luke and Sarah decided to do some crazy jumping on the trampoline!

This morning we headed over to the Christmas Tree Farm. We don't usually put up our Christmas tree before the 1st December, but today was the only chance we'd get to the Farm. The kids had a ball walking amongst the trees searching for their favourite tree to cut down.

We ended up with a tree slightly larger than we'd had in mind, but it looks fantastic and smells beautiful! On the way home, we stopped at a local produce stand for some delicious strawberries and mangoes! Yum!

Hello and welcome to my new blog! I have been keeping a blog to track my recovery since my hip operation in April 2010 and decided it was time to get one started with a focus on family and some of the adventures and fun times we share!

A quick introduction - I am a mum to a six and a half year old son and four year old daughter. I have been married for over nine years to my wonderful, patient husband! I work part time and am also studying primary teaching. I love photography and am so happy to have such beautiful children to have as my subjects!
