End of school holidays!

Wow - it is hard to believe that today is the last day of our school holidays! We have done so many fantastic things over the last five weeks, including Christmas, my sister's wedding, a holiday down the south coast, movies, play dates, lots of water fun, a trip to Darling Harbour for the kids with their nanny and poppy, enjoying time at home together...and more!

We went out to lunch today together to celebrate the last day of the school holidays, and then the afternoon saw us repacking school bags, labelling all of the items to go into Luke's pencil case, laying out uniforms and also a trip to the shops to stock up the fridge full of yummy fruit and snacks for school lunchboxes.

Both Luke and Sarah are back tomorrow; Luke heading off to his first day in Year 1 and Sarah to preschool where she will go Monday and Tuesday each week. Brett is also back to work tomorrow, so I have two whole days to myself...what to do? Relax, read...I doubt it! More like housework, client work and hopefully some biscuit baking at some point.

Here are just some of the highlights from our school holidays!

Being crazy on Christmas Day!

Bird-sitting our neighbour's budgie Bluebell! (the kids thought that was great!)

Katie and Stuart's wedding!)

Merry Beach Fun!

Water slide action!

And I thought I'd try and get some final holiday shots of Luke and Sarah, but unfortunately Luke just wasn't in the mood and Sarah just wanted to point at me!

Bring on the new school year!

Felt Fun!

I have been lucky this school holidays to not be bombarded with too many "I'm bored mum" days. Today happened to be one of those days though, so out came the craft box and my stash of felt. I have been saving up this idea since seeing it on Melissa's blog and thought it would be a great idea to entertain Luke and Sarah. With a little assistance from me with the cutting, Luke and Sarah designed and glued their own play mats - Luke's being a place for his pirates and soldiers and Sarah's being for her Polly Pockets. What fun we had making them and (now that the massive amounts of craft glue have dried) we can play with them over and over!

Merry Beach

After the excitement of the wedding, we headed down the south coast to our caravan for a much needed holiday. We took advantage of the beautiful weather to spend lots of time at the beach and in the pool, and did the usual holiday things like go for walks, feed the birds and roast marshmallows on the fire. Our long-time friends were there for the first three days, so it was great to spend time with them and watch our children playing together.

The Wedding!

Wow - what more can I say? Katie and Stuart's wedding couldn't have been more perfect. A beautiful sunny day, a glowing bride, a very proud groom and family and friends to celebrate their love for each other.

We started the day at the hairdressers at 8am. Katie's veil was the last to go on and it certainly was emotional - her hair looked stunning.

Back to mum's house for lunch and a champagne (or apple juice for Sarah and Amelia!) to toast the occasion.

Make up came next and the girls were delighted to get theirs done too!

It all happened so fast from then - the photographers, Karen and Nicole, arrived and we all of a sudden needed to get dressed. Love this photo that Aunty Anne took of Katie and the girls!

It was such an amazing day and I am so happy to have been a part of it.

Congratulations Katie and Stuart!

Two more sleeps...

until the event of 2011 - Katie and Stuart's wedding!

Sarah is taking her job of flowergirl very seriously and has been practising her walk down the aisle - she is so excited (as am I)!

Pretending to hold flowers!

In preparation for my bridesmaid duties, I have been busy this week visiting the hairdressers, getting my nails done etc.

I am looking forward to our girlie night tomorrow, followed by what is sure to be a fantastic, fun filled wedding day for Katie and Stuart on Saturday! Can't wait!!

We had a fantastic Christmas Day with both sides of the family, beautiful food (too much!) and an abundance of lovely gifts. Since Christmas, we've been lucky to enjoy a few quiet days at home to play and play and play with all of the new boardgames, Lego, craft, dress ups, puppet show etc!

It was a quiet New Years for us (not complaining!). We have a great start to 2011 with Katie and Stuart's wedding next weekend - we are so much looking forward to it and being a part of the big day.
